Big Bang & Dong Bang Shin Ki Star Wars Special Stage

On December 29th on SBS “Gayo Festival” will see the two musical acts actually compete. Two of Kpop’s biggest names Big Bang and Dong Bang Shin Ki will have their first ever joint stage!

They will be performing together for SBS year-end concert ‘2008 SBS Gayo Festival’. One of the staff for the concert announced on 24th December, “The 2 groups are preparing for a performance called ‘Star Wars’.”

It is also confirmed that Big Bang TaeYang and Dong Bang Shin Ki Xiah JunSu will also be having a showdown of musical composition.

“After the piano performance session, they will also have a song battle. Xiah JunSu is scheduled to perform first, followed by TaeYang.”.

Arghhh cannot wait..I'm more excited...Wish that they give best performance..

Heaven's Postman Filming Ends

Kim Jae Joong has just finished for the filming of the Japan - Korea Drama entitled ”Heaven’s Postman” on the 12th, all the staffs and the stars gathered in a restaurant after the filming and got interviewed and hope for the drama’s success.

SM Entertainment representative who responsible for the TVXQ has stated,” Kim Jae Joong~ after he’s done with the drama filming, he’s quite sad to leave the filming team, though it’s quite long and tiring for the filming, but through this recording, he got alot of experiences and ofcourse he felt so happy while working together with the team.” on the 14th through phone with the SPN.

Heaven’s Postman took 100 billion won to complete this Japan - Korea Drama which is also the first colaboration. Jae Joong started this filming since November and after one month, also participated in the TVXQ promotional actitvities and still filming the drama.

This serial Drama is directed by Lee Hyeong Min, who previously directed “Sorry, I Love You” and “Snow Queen”. Kim JaeJoong in “Heaven’s Postman” plays as a special postman who delivers letters to heaven for those friends and relatives who have passed away while Han Hyo Joo plays the leading female actress,who played the”Spring Waltz”,who has already being admitted for her popularity. This serial drama is written by a Japanese screen-writer Eriko Kitagawa, so next year this drama will be broadcasted through the SBS channel.

The drama will air in May, 2009.

Idol group Big Bang will sing for beautiful actress Kim Tae Hee

Following LG Electronics mobile phone brand CYON, korean idol group Big Bang and Kim Tae Hee had filmed together for a new ‘Ice Cream Phone’ CF in a filming set in GyeonGiDo NamYangJoo on 17th December. This will be the first time that Big Bang and Kim Tae Hee will appear together in a CF.

One of the staff said, “Big Bang and Kim Tae Hee has met for the first time for this filming of CF. In this CF, Big Bang sang a newly arranged version of Im Byung Soo’s past hit song ‘Ice Cream Love’ to Kim Tae Hee.”

Big Bang and Kim Tae Hee also took a picture together for promotional use.

TVXQ listens to Big Bang's music; SeungRi is in Junsu's fanclub

Q: Do you have a song you like to sing?

Seungri: Songs that I like to listen to a lot is "Undwenayo" by Hwisong-shi. And before I debut, I really really like "Timeless" by Dong bang shin ki-hyung especially Junsu-hyung, whenever I listen to songs that he sings, I always feel very touched (laughs). I've learnt a lot from Dongbangshinki-hyung, I also registered in Junsu-hyung's fan cafe and post lots of news and photos ^^. Because getting to know hyungs makes Bigbang and have Seungri in Bigbang. From now on I will try harder to show better and better products !

Q: Do you have a person you admire and really want to meet?

Seungri: Like I've just said, I really admire Junsu-hyung from Dongbangshinki and I've learned a lot of things from him. I've bought Dongbangshinki's CD and every time I listen to their songs I feel very good. To tell you the truth, if I get the chance to have a meal with Junsu-hyung for once it would be so great. (laughs)

Junsu's Interview

Q: Recently, do you have a song that you like to sing?

Junsu: Recently I've heard about a group called "BIGBANG" a lot. And the song "Koh Jid Mal" is very good (laughs). Especially when I found out that G-Dragon composed it himself, it makes me like the song even more.

Yunho: One day, Junsu bought BIG BANG cd back home and we feel very honored that we bought Bigbang's songs to listen to. Then one day while Junsu was having dinner and watching TV, Junsu listens to "Koh Jid Mal" from Bigbang all the time.

Q: If so, have you heard about Seungri-shi from Bigbang being your fanclub?

Junsu: Aaaaa... yes, I've heard about this before and I feel very thankful for everyone in Bigbang. Once I went on a show and got to meet Bigbang. I shook all of their hands and when Seungri shook my hands he won't let go. We looked at each other in the eye and Seungri said "I've always admire you", when he does that I smiled and he smiled, and Seungri greeted me (said hello) again and again. I was so surprised then. (laughs)

The competition between TVXQ and Big Bang

The competition between TVXQ and Big Bang has aroused many people’s interest.

TVXQ held their fall mini concert on the 21st at Seoul Plaza. During the press conference, they were asked, “In the 1 year and 7 months after you’ve left Korea, many new competitions have sprouted. What do you feel about the talks of competition?” They answered, “We’ve been away from Korea for 1 year and 7 months, but we’ve been in Japan for all that time. Not being in Korea was like taking a break, so we have to come back and work hard.”

They also said, “The new groups such as Big Bang and SHINee are really good. Because of them, the music world has become more energetic. Looking at it like that, it makes us really happy.”

“Each singer grows and matures, and earns more popularity. This adds energy and fun to the music world. Because of them, we’ve been motivated to do better. Under this kind of situation, we can show everyone TVXQ’s unique qualities. We feel very happy about this.”

TVXQ has revealed that their fourth album theme “Mirotic” was Jaejoong’s idea. “Miro” means a feeling you cannot get rid of, and adding “Tic” to it made a new word. “Even though this gives fans a fresh feeling, we’ve always been determined to created an album where people can’t pull themselves out of it.”

Also, TVXQ’s fall mini concert on the 21st was the official beginning of their fourth album promotions. This time’s event was for young adults to mingle with the general public, and create a passionate atmosphere.

TVXQ performed 5 songs from their new album at their concert, including the title song “Mirotic,” and will also be revealing a series of small stories from the 1 year and 7 months they’ve been in Japan.

Big Bang hold their Stand Up Concert

Idol group Big Bang had their Japanese concert tour ‘Stand Up 2008′. The ticket was sold out illegally and this Korean group was successfully attracts of 20,000 fans to their concert compared to the first concert and fans crowded queues go into the hall before concert start.

Big Bang sang about 30 songs in the 2.5 hours, including new performances of 6 songs off their first Japanese official album ‘Number 1′ released on 22nd October, and also individual performances to the delight of their fans.

1TYM Danny also appeared as guest singer performing the song ‘Without U’ and ‘Hot’.

Big Bang’s concert tour this time has also gained a lot of attention from the Japanese artistes.

Tachibana Keita of group W-inds, who won the best Asian singers during Asia Song Festival this year, also attended the concert.

Keita said, “There is this group who has been attracting a lot of media concert and attention lately, which is Big Bang. Even though they are younger than me, also much capable, their dance performances were also enjoyable. Their performance was something to be jealous of.”

Also one member of group PinkInk “After attending Big Bang’s concert, I went to listen to their other CDs. Even though I am not into Hip Hop, I like Big Bang.”

With the end to their concert tour in Japan, Big Bang has also successfully revealed their latest teaser video to their 2nd official Korean album ‘Remember’, which is set to release on 5th November. The boys will have their comeback performance on 8th November on MBC Music Core.

Recently I notice that I love this band as much as my boys TVXQ. Their song, attitude, fashion style remind me for younger now a days to hard work like them.

Big Bang Mini Album

Big Bang has been unstoppable in 2008. Still basking in the success of their best-selling mini album Stand Up and first full-length Japan album Number 1, the popular Korean boy band keeps the releases coming with Remember, their second full-length Korean album. The group takes on the challenge of covering popular singer Lee Moon Sae's mega hit Sunset Glow for one of their main plugs. Though the song has been covered many times by different singers, Big Bang truly gives it a whole new spin. They revisit some of their own songs as well, offering an acoustic version of their Stand Up hit Haru Haru and remix versions of Lies and Last Farewell. Title track Remember should also be familiar to fans as the English version was just featured in Number 1. Big Bang's latest 11-track album also includes new songs like Foolish Love, Wonderful, and Strong Baby which is a solo number from the baby of the group, Seung Ri.

Big Bang Will Knock Japanese Market

The Korean hip-hop bands known as Big Bang will join the rush of Korean celebrities making entertainment headlines in Japan. 

According to their agency, YG Entertainment, the five-member boy band have release a mini album, also known as an EP (extended play) ``For the World'' in Japan Jan.4 and also already successfully kicked off the first concert``Big Bang: For the World'' at the JCB Hall at Tokyo Dome city on March 28 and 29. 
Big Bang became one of Korea's favorite hip-hop bands with their easy-to-memorize melodies, lyrics and korean fashion styles. They won numerous awards last year for their music and are expected to create a new Korean style hip-hop trend in Japan.

2008 Mnet Korean Music Festival (MKMF)

The 2008 Mnet Korean Music Festival (MKMF) took place last night at Seoul’s Jamsil stadium with it being hailed as the biggest-ever in it’s 10 year history. From the red carpet to the awards ceremony, the entire festival lasted 6 hours. Not only that, it was broadcast live in Korea, China and Japan at the same time which meant that much more watched the event for the first time in history. But the most important thing was who will walk away with the big awards.

In the end, the big awards was split between the 3 most popular groups in Korea right now, Big Bang, Wonder Girls and DBSK. This meant that the MKMF 2008 became an awards ceremony dominated by idol groups. Among the 3 big awards, Big Bang won the Artist of the Year, Wonder Girls won the Song of the Year (Nobody) while DBSK won the Album of the Year (Mirotic).

Big Bang, Wonder Girls and DBSK were all overcome with emotion as they spoke after receiving their awards. After receiving Song of the Year Award for Nobody, they expressed, “We really don’t know how to express our thanks for giving us this big award. We will release even better music to thank our fans.”

Big Bang’s T.O.P. expressed, “Compared to flowers which will wilt at unexpected times, I would prefer to be wild grass that can live a long life.” G-Dragon said, “It’s a really meaningful thing to receive the Artiste of the Year award as a singer. We will work even harder in future to become even better singers.” DBSK who won Best Album of the Year said, “We felt the pressure to restart our promotions again in Korea (after a long while). So we would like to thank our fans and company staff for believing and supporting us all this while.”

It was not just the big awards as Big Bang, Wonder Girls and DBSK also swept up other awards which they were nominated in. This also further established their high popularity status in Korea at the moment. Besides Song of the Year, the Wonder Girls also won Best Female Group and Best Music Video. DBSK picked up Netizen Popularity Award, Style Award and Overseas Viewers Award while Big Bang won the Best Male Group Award and Digital Music Award.

Winners were determined by online voting, panel of judges, album sales, digital downloads as the criteria. Over 30 awards were given away last night.
